Wilson Sonsini Advises Discovery Loop on Launch and Initial Funding
On August 5, 2026, a founding team comprised of some of the world’s leading experts in artificial intelligence and distributed computing—Jeff Dean, Sanjay Ghemawat, Quoc Le, and Oriol Vinyals (alphabetical)—announced the launch of Discovery Loop, Inc., a Delaware public benefit corporation. Discovery Loop’s initial funding round is being co-led by Radical Ventures and Khosla Ventures, with participation from Lightspeed, Kleiner Perkins, Doerr Capital, and Alphabet. Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati is advising Discovery Loop on its launch and the financing.
The company aims to dramatically accelerate technological and scientific progress by automating complex science and engineering tasks. Specifically, it is developing advanced AI systems that leverage massive computational scale to fundamentally transform the speed and efficiency of innovation by automating complete experimental loops. In conjunction with its launch, Discovery Loop has established a long-term partnership with Alphabet for cloud and compute resources.

On February 20, 2025, Millie, a tech-enabled maternity clinic, announced that it raised $12 million in Series A funding co-led by TMV and Foreground Capital, with significant participation from Pivotal Ventures and the March of Dimes Innovation Fund, two of the most prominent organizations advancing women’s health. Wilson Sonsini Advises Heeyo on Seed Financing
On August 2, 2024, Heeyo, developer of an AI-based platform designed for children, announced it emerged from stealth and raised a seed financing round from OpenAI Startup Fund, Amazon Alexa Fund, Pear VC, Charge Ventures, and others. Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati advised Heeyo on the transaction. The funding will be used to support recruiting for product development and curriculum design.

Wilson Sonsini Advises PacBio on $441 Million Senior Notes Offering
On June 26, 2023, Pacific Biosciences of California, Inc. (PacBio) announced that it has entered into a privately negotiated exchange agreement with a holder of PacBio's outstanding 1.50 percent convertible senior notes due 2028, pursuant to which PacBio will issue $441 million principal amount of its 1.375 percent convertible senior notes due 2030 in exchange for $441 million principal amount of the 2028 notes (the Exchange Transaction), in a transaction exempt from registration under the Securities Act of 1933, as amended, and the rules and regulations thereunder. The Exchange Transaction is expected to close on or about June 30, 2023, subject to customary closing conditions.

Wilson Sonsini Advises Micron on $1.25 Billion Investment Grade Notes Offering
On February 6, 2023, Micron priced an offering of $500 million in aggregate principal amount of its 6.750 percent senior notes due 2029 and $750,000,000 in aggregate principal amount of its 5.875 percent senior notes due 2033. The sale of the notes closed on February 9, 2023. Micron intends to use the net proceeds from the sale of the notes for general corporate purposes, which may include capital expenditures.
