On July 1, 2025, Tenstorrent, a next-generation computing company building computers for AI, announced that it had acquired Blue Cheetah Analog Design, a startup specializing in highly customized analog mixed-signal IP. Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati advised Tenstorrent on the transaction.
Blue Cheetah has been a key technology partner for Tenstorrent, developing advanced die-to-die interconnects used in its chiplet products. The acquisition follows a 2024 licensing agreement for Blue Cheetah’s interconnect IP, further deepening the strategic alignment between the companies. The acquisition brings Blue Cheetah’s deep expertise in analog and mixed-signal design in-house to Tenstorrent, accelerating its chiplet roadmap and advancing its vision of an open chiplet ecosystem with optimized interconnects. Blue Cheetah’s BlueLynx D2D IP supports multiple foundries and process nodes and is compatible with both Open Compute Project Bunch of Wires and Universal Chiplet Interconnect Express.
The Wilson Sonsini team advising Tenstorrent on the transaction was led by corporate partners Robert Suffoletta and Nathan Robinson, and included corporate associates Steve Herlin and Tanner Kuenneth; technology transactions partner Jamie Clessuras and associates Stephen Geirhofer, Chris Murray, and Ariel Friedman; employment attorneys Jason Storck and Rachel Herrington; employee benefits and compensation attorneys Michelle Wallin and Gregory Hughes; and tax attorneys Myra Sutanto Shen and Rob Sherrill; and privacy and cybersecurity partner Matt Staples and associate Michael O’Brien.
