  • Experienced Business Advisor

Richard is well-versed in transatlantic deal issues, having represented public and private tech and emerging growth companies and investors through all stages of growth for over 20 years.

  • Transatlantic Connector

Richard works across the U.S. and European tech markets to connect founders, investors, and strategic acquirers and help them compete and win on the global stage.

  • Seasoned Leader

Prior to joining the firm, Richard led tech-focused groups at Ernst & Young and Gowling WLG.

Richard Goold is a partner in the London office of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, where he supports public and private technology, life sciences, and emerging growth companies through all stages of their growth. He is a trusted business and legal advisor to companies that undertake transformative events—primarily venture/growth/private equity financings, acquisitions, and M&A/IPO exits.

Richard has deep cross-border expertise, with many years of experience counseling U.S. and European tech and life sciences companies and investors on transatlantic commercial, operational, and legal matters (from the day-to-day through "bet-the-farm" transactions). He also frequently represents venture capital and growth equity funds in a broad range of cross-border investment transactions.

The Wall Street Journal's Financial News named Richard to its inaugural “Fintech 40,” the 40 leading innovators shaping the future of finance in Europe.

Prior to joining the firm, Richard held global leadership roles at Ernst & Young and Gowling WLG—where he led the global technology sector law team and co-led the global sector group, respectively. Richard also led Ernst & Young's services to fast growth tech companies in the UK for over five years.
