On February 28, 2024, Judge John Koeltl of the federal district court in Manhattan dismissed an attempt to challenge the Art Institute of Chicago’s legal ownership of an Egon Schiele drawing, “Russian War Prisoner.” In the latest memorandum, Koeltl upheld his prior decision to dismiss the case brought by the heirs of a Fritz Grünbaum, who alleged that the drawing was stolen from the Austrian Jewish performer by Nazis during World War II.

Law.com Highlights LA Litigation Team Among Top 2021 Lateral Hires
On January 26, 2022, Law.com published a follow-up analysis that highlighted the Los Angeles litigation team that joined Wilson Sonsini in late 2021. The analysis followed The American Lawyer article published on January 25 that listed 2021’s top lateral hires in Big Law. According to the analysis, there were 10 litigation hires that made the list of the 25 lateral moves Am Law says “left the biggest imprint on the industry in 2021”—including Wilson Sonsini’s hiring of partners Luis Li, Matthew Macdonald, Fred Rowley, and Mark Yohalem in the Los Angeles office, and the addition of Eric Tuttle as a partner in the Seattle office.
