Stanford (Stan) A. Renas is a partner in the New York office of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati. A leading practitioner in the project finance market, Stan has extensive experience advising financial institutions, energy companies, and multinational corporations on a broad range of complex structured finance, project finance, derivatives, and trade finance matters, with a focus on the energy and climate solutions sector.
Stan guides clients through the structuring, negotiation, documentation, and execution of high-value financial transactions, including borrowing base facilities, renewable energy deals, intermediation facilities, tolling arrangements, and structured commodity transactions. He also represents underwriters, issuers, institutional investors, and sponsors in matters involving the securitization and re-packaging of both traditional and non-traditional assets. In addition, Stan regularly represents financial institutions, derivatives dealers, and end-users in structured swaps, total return instruments, credit derivatives, repo contracts, and other structured products. He has significant experience in domestic and cross-border receivables securitizations, asset-based finance, factoring, supply chain/vendor finance, and trade finance, often advising clients on receivables monetization strategies.
