Andy Hirsch retired as a partner from Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati in 2024. His corporate practice focused on finance matters. He brought to his practice substantial experience in corporate financing transactions, including venture lending and leasing; single-lender and syndicated credit facilities; leveraged buyouts and acquisition finance; high-yield debt securities; project financings; private placements of debt and equity; and other complex debt and securities financings. He represented public and private companies, as well as financing sources, in diverse industries, including technology, telecommunications, life sciences, manufacturing, and retail.

He had particular expertise in the energy and clean technology sectors. Among his many transactions, Andy helped complete the first-ever U.S. Department of Energy loan guarantee transaction under the Energy Policy Act of 2005.

Andy was a co-editor of the Report of the Uniform Commercial Code Committee of the Business Law Section of the State Bar of California on Legal Opinions in Personal Property Secured Transactions (2005). He served as a co-chair of the firm's Opinion Advisory Committee.

On January 27, 2022,  Enable Injections, Inc., a company developing and manufacturing the enFuse platform of investigational wearable drug delivery systems, announced $215 million in Series C financing. Magnetar Capital led the financing along with new institutional investments from GCM Grosvenor, Squarepoint Capital, Woody Creek Capital Partners, and other investors. On January 18, 2022, Sonder Holdings Inc., a leading next-generation hospitality company that is redefining the guest experience through technology and design, announced that it completed its previously announced business combination with Gores Metropoulos II, Inc., a special purpose acquisition company sponsored by affiliates of The Gores Group, LLC, and Metropoulos & Co. The business combination was approved at a special meeting of Gores Metropoulos II stockholders on January 14, 2022. The combined company, operating as Sonder Holdings Inc., commenced trading its common stock and publicly traded warrants on the Nasdaq Global Select Market on January 19, 2022, under the ticker symbols “SOND” and “SONDW,” respectively.
