PALO ALTO, Calif., July 29, 2026 — Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, the premier provider of legal services to innovative and growth enterprises worldwide, today announced the appointment of Rezwan Pavri as chair of the firm. A member of the firm’s board of directors and head of its Capital Markets practice, Pavri assumes the role as Wilson Sonsini positions itself for its next phase of growth.

Pavri has spent more than two decades at the center of the innovation ecosystem, advising companies—along with the founders, boards, investors, and underwriters behind them—through some of the industry’s largest and most high-profile financings, public offerings, mergers and acquisitions, and complex governance and securities matters. His practice has consistently focused on moments when clients are making consequential decisions about scale, structure, and strategy, making him a destination for the world’s best companies.

“There are attorneys who are technically excellent, and attorneys people trust with their most important decisions,” said Tony Jeffries, whose term as chair of the firm’s board of directors ended on July 28, 2026. “Rezwan has always been both. Over more than two decades, he has built an extraordinary practice while also helping shape our firm. He brings judgment, experience, and long-term perspective to the role that the firm will benefit from.”

As chair of the firm, Pavri will lead the firm’s board of directors and work closely with Caz Hashemi and Megan Baier, who succeeded Doug Clark as chief executive officers when the firm’s new leadership team took effect on July 28, 2026.

“This firm has been at the heart of the innovation economy for more than 65 years—not by accident, but because exceptional people have chosen to build their careers and do their best work for clients here,” said Pavri. “I look forward to maintaining my work for the firm’s clients and collaborating with Caz, Megan, and the board to preserve what has made Wilson Sonsini special while continuing to strengthen and evolve in preparation for what comes next.”

Pavri, Baier, and Hashemi will work closely together to oversee the firm’s strategy, culture, and talent. Baier and Hashemi will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the firm’s business performance, including its operations, financial results, growth, AI and innovation, and risk management.

“We are delighted to be working with Rezwan to further build on the firm’s unique and enviable position in the market,” said Hashemi. “The firm’s momentum has never been stronger, and our client base of companies driving the innovation economy continues to be exceptional. We look forward to leading the firm’s next phase of growth.”

“The firms that succeed in this environment are those that convert complexity into clarity for clients,” said Baier. “As we formally assume these roles, our focus is on leading a firm that continues to grow as intentionally as it serves its clients. That discipline will further define how we move forward at a time of remarkable change in the legal industry and a pivotal, exciting moment in Wilson Sonsini’s history.”

Pavri has spent much of his legal career at Wilson Sonsini, joining as an associate in 2004, becoming a corporate partner in the firm’s Palo Alto office in 2008 and practicing there until 2014, and rejoining in 2017. He holds a J.D. from Columbia Law School, an M.A. from Columbia University, and a B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles.
