PALO ALTO, CA (December 3, 2025)—Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, the premier provider of legal services to technology, life sciences, and growth enterprises worldwide, today announced that Caz Hashemi and Megan Baier have been selected as the firm’s next managing partners, effective August 1, 2026. They will succeed Doug Clark, who has led the firm since 2012 and will remain in a senior advisory role through the end of the next fiscal year.

“Leading Wilson Sonsini for the past 13 years has been an incredible honor,” said Clark. “I’m thrilled to pass the reins to Megan and Caz. They embody the qualities that have fueled our success—strategic insight, a solutions-oriented mindset, and the ability to guide both clients and the firm through pivotal moments. With their complementary strengths and shared vision, Wilson Sonsini is in excellent hands.”

Hashemi, based in Palo Alto, joined Wilson Sonsini in 2000 and has led the firm’s Litigation Department with distinction since 2019, significantly expanding its size and capabilities. Widely regarded for representing clients in high-stakes litigation and government investigations, he is also recognized as one of the best securities defense attorneys in the country. He previously served as an enforcement attorney in the SEC’s Division of Enforcement.

“I’m humbled by the trust placed in us to help guide Wilson Sonsini into its next chapter,” said Hashemi. “Doug raised the bar. Few firms can match the depth of our client relationships, the strength of our culture, or the caliber of our people. Megan and I are committed to advancing this tradition and ensuring Wilson Sonsini continues to set the standard in the market.”

Baier, based in New York, joined Wilson Sonsini in 2014, was made a partner in 2017, and quickly emerged as a driving force within the firm’s New York Corporate group. She has led numerous IPOs and complex public offerings while advising public companies on governance, compliance, and strategic initiatives. Baier also represents a broad range of venture-backed private companies through critical growth stages.

“It’s a profound privilege to be able to contribute to this firm’s unmatched legacy as managing partner,” said Baier. “Previous leaders have established a foundation of excellence at Wilson Sonsini, and Caz and I are committed to building on it—investing in the next generation of practitioners, accelerating our strategic priorities, and continuing to deliver the trusted, innovative counsel our clients rely on.”

The transition underscores Wilson Sonsini’s prioritization of thoughtful succession planning, collaborative leadership, and uncompromising client service.

“We are deeply grateful to Doug for his many contributions,” said Tony Jeffries, chair of Wilson Sonsini’s board of directors. “When he announced his intention to step down, the board sought partners who could guide the firm forward with confidence. Megan and Caz have long been central to the leadership team in various roles and, as key architects of its growth, are exceptionally well positioned to take Wilson Sonsini to even greater heights.”

Under Clark’s leadership, Wilson Sonsini has expanded strategically across the U.S. and internationally, fortifying its core practices. During his tenure, annual revenue increased from $549 million in 2012 to $1.4 billion in 2025, and lawyer headcount surpassed 1,000—solidifying the firm’s position as a global legal powerhouse. Since 2012, the firm has opened offices in key markets, including Boston, London, and Los Angeles. Clark also played a key leadership role in the firm’s innovation initiatives, including its launch of SixFifty, an automated regulatory solutions subsidiary that was sold earlier this year and ranks among the largest acquisitions involving a law firm technology asset.
