On September 29, 2026, Proximal, a research lab focused on data, launched out of stealth, raising $15 million in seed funding led by General Catalyst. Chemistry, SV Angel, and other investors joined the round. Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati advised Proximal on the transaction.

Proximal builds systems that turn unstructured real-world data into evaluations that expose capability gaps and then uses those signals to generate targeted post-training data and improve how models are deployed.
