On October 27, 2026, US WorldMeds, a specialty pharmaceutical company, and Orbus Therapeutics, a privately held pharmaceutical company developing investigational eflornithine for rare and serious brain tumors, announced a definitive merger agreement under which US WorldMeds has acquired Orbus. Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati advised Orbus on IP matters in connection with the transaction.

The acquisition adds Orbus’s late-stage program in recurrent Grade 3 astrocytoma to US WorldMeds’s rare-disease portfolio. Orbus advanced oral eflornithine through the Phase 3 STELLAR study, and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration granted the program Breakthrough Therapy designation for the treatment of anaplastic astrocytoma.
