On February 12, 2026, Pro Bono Partner Luke Liss was honored with the James T. Caleshu Award on behalf of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati at the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights of the San Francisco Bay Area’s (LCCRSF’s) 39th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Awards celebration in San Francisco. The recognition celebrates the firm’s outstanding pro bono contributions to LCCRSF’s Legal Services for Entrepreneurs (LSE) program. In his acceptance of the award, Luke gave brief remarks memorializing legendary Wilson Sonsini partner Harry Bremond, who played a leading role in the founding and leadership of the firm’s pro bono practice—and the pro bono movement within law firms generally—and recently passed away.
Wilson Sonsini was well represented at the event, with attendees including partners Colleen Bal, Josh Baskin, Wendy Devine, John Flynn, Tina Hanson, and Bonnie Lau; Head of Community Impact Lia Cartagena; retired partner Mark Parnes; and Harry’s wife, Peggy Forbes, and daughter, Candace Bremond, among many other Wilson Sonsini attendees.
Founded in 1968, LCCRSF works to advance, protect, and promote the legal rights of communities of color and low-income persons, immigrants, and refugees. Assisted by hundreds of pro bono attorneys, LCCR provides free legal assistance and representation to individuals on civil legal matters through direct services, impact litigation, and policy advocacy.
