On August 26, 2026, Mara, a defense hardware start-up, announced a $7 million funding round to bring Spike, its integrated counter-UAS platform designed for the small, inexpensive FPV drones reshaping modern conflict, from field testing to broad combat deployment. The round was led by Khosla Ventures, with participation from a16z Speedrun, Night Capital, Palmdrive, Protagonist, Freedom Fund, and Indicator Fund, alongside angel investors. Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati advised Mara on the transaction.
