IAPP Europe Data Protection Congress 2025 returns to Brussels for its 14th year—bringing together leaders in data protection, AI governance, and cybersecurity law to discuss the top issues affecting the region.
On Wednesday, November 19, partner Cédric Burton will lead a breakout session “From Chat to Agent: The Promise of Agentic Commerce.” Cédric will moderate an engaging discussion with leaders from Mastercard and OpenAI and the European Data Protection Bard Head of Secretariat on how AI-driven agents are reshaping commerce and what this evolution means for data protection, accountability, and trust.
Also on Wednesday, November 19, partner Yann Padova will participate in two panels: he will first join a breakout session at 12:00 on “Simplifying the Complex: Europe’s Path to Responsible Innovation.” This panel will explore how European and national policymakers implement regulatory simplification to foster responsible innovation, examining the roles of governments, regulators, and industries in balancing innovation, economic growth, and data protection.
Yann then will participate in the panel "Is European Tech Sovereignty Possible, Desirable and Achievable?" at 16:30 alongside esteemed panelists including Axel Voss of the European Parliament. The panelists will discuss the changing geopolitical changes in the world and across Europe and how companies can navigate the realities and challenges of data protection and technological sovereignty in a global economy.
