Trina Higgins serves as Of Counsel in the Salt Lake City office of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, where she brings extensive legal expertise and experience.
Most recently, Trina was appointed as the United States Attorney for the District of Utah from 2022 to 2025, the first woman to hold the position in the state. Prior to this appointment, she was the Mediterranean Regional Legal Advisor for the Department of Justice at the U.S. Embassies in Valletta, Malta, and Nicosia, Cyprus helping train foreign governments on investigating international money laundering, terrorism financing, and corruption.
With over 20 years of experience as an Assistant United States Attorney, Trina has successfully prosecuted a diverse array of federal offenses, managed numerous trials, and assumed various leadership roles, including Senior Litigation Counsel and Chief of the Violent Crime Section.
Earlier in her career, Trina served as a Deputy District Attorney in the Salt Lake County District Attorney’s Office. Additionally, she was an adjunct professor at the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law, where she taught trial advocacy for 10 years.
