Mikaela Evans-Aziz is Of Counsel in the San Francisco office of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati.
Mikaela is a litigator with a focus on antitrust and multidistrict litigation (MDL) defense. She has worked on 10 antitrust MDLs spanning a number of industries and products, from lithium-ion batteries to generic pharmaceuticals to financial instruments to digital advertising technology to replacement tires.
Mikaela also has experience in intellectual property, general commercial litigation, and sports matters—including litigating two federal jury trials in the last year in patent cases. Her 2023 plaintiff-side patent trial was named among Law.com's “Top 100 Verdicts of 2023” and her 2024 defense-side patent damages retrial resulted in a 92 percent reduction in damages from the original trial. She also has trial experience in antitrust and sports litigation and arbitrations, and has worked on a number of appeals in different practice areas. She has written pre-trial and post-trial briefing, prepared witnesses to testify, and conducted witness examinations at trial.
Mikaela devotes a large part of her practice to working closely with expert witnesses. In particular, she draws on her background in economics and econometrics to work with expert economists at the class certification and merits stages of cases and has both taken and defended expert depositions. She also has experience working closely with expert economists and statisticians in five trials.
Mikaela was previously a litigation associate in the New York office of a leading international law firm, with a focus on antitrust and sports.
