Margaret Chow is General Counsel in Residence at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, where she advises clients on business strategy, operations, and corporate governance.
Prior to joining the firm, Margaret served as senior vice president, chief legal officer, and corporate secretary at Couchbase, Inc. In that role, she scaled the company’s global legal functions, advised on all aspects of the business, and steered the company through its successful IPO in 2021 and take-private acquisition in 2025. She also served as interim chief people officer and executive sponsor for the environmental, social and governance program.
Margaret brings board-level governance experience, having served as a board member and secretary for Anjiro Initiative, a nonprofit that provides grants to underprivileged students in Anjiro, Madagascar.
Previously, as vice president and deputy general counsel at Medallia, Inc., Margaret was a trusted partner to the C-suite as the company grew from a start-up into a multi-billion-dollar public company. Her work spanned commercial transactions, corporate and governance matters, employment, and legal operations.
Earlier in her career, Margaret was associate general counsel at Usablenet, overseeing a broad range of legal and business affairs. She began her career as an associate at Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP.
