Marc Porter is a corporate partner in the Salt Lake City office of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, where he represents innovative emerging technology, life sciences, consumer product, and other venture and private equity backed companies. He represents companies in their financings and liquidity events, as well as their day-to-day legal matters. He also has extensive experience representing companies in strategic acquisitions. Marc represents many venture capital and private equity funds in Utah and across the country. He is a trusted advisor to executives, boards of directors, entrepreneurs, and venture capital and private equity fund managers.

Marc has been recognized as leading corporate attorney by Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business in the Utah Corporate/M&A category for his expertise assisting clients with high-value financing transactions, where sources note he is “a great partner” who “provides strong counsel on strategic items.” He is also named in Best Lawyers in America for corporate law and venture capital law, and honored among the “Legal Elite” by Utah Business Magazine.

Prior to joining the firm, Marc was a corporate partner in the Salt Lake City office of Holland & Hart LLP. Earlier in his career, he was an associate at Snell & Wilmer and Perkins Coie LLP. Following law school, he served as a law clerk for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 10th Circuit.
