During law school, Katie worked with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and conducted research on rural electrification opportunities for the Nevada Clean Energy Fund. She holds a master's degree in environment and resources from the Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability.

Prior to law school, Katie worked on the regulated energy markets team at the Brattle Group.
