John Karin is a partner in the New York office of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, where he is a member of the complex litigation group. John has experience managing all stages of large, bet-the-company litigation across the United States and abroad, including pre-complaint demands and investigations, motion practice, discovery, trial, and appeal. He has a wide-ranging practice, having litigated precedent-setting cases in the fiduciary duty, M&A, securities, and general commercial spaces. He also counsels companies and their directors on litigation, corporate governance, and major strategic transactions, both contemplated and hostile. John has represented and advised clients in a number of industries, including technology, pharmaceuticals, financial services, telecommunications, and energy.
Prior to joining the firm, he was an associate at Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP. After law school, John clerked for the Honorable Richard A. Posner of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.
