Emma Nel is an associate in the London office of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, where she is part of the firm’s tax practice. Emma advises on a broad range of UK tax matters, with a particular focus on the UK tax aspects of M&A transactions and advising UK companies expanding to the U.S. She has also worked on various tax advisory projects, tax structuring, and tax compliance queries more generally.

Prior to joining the firm, Emma worked at Birketts LLP as a solicitor on the Corporate Tax team in London, where she advised on all areas of tax law. Prior to that, she was a senior consultant on the M&A and International Tax team at Ernst & Young in Auckland, where she worked on tax advisory projects and conducted tax due diligence and transaction support. Emma began her career in a tax accountancy and advisory role, preparing tax returns and advising on all areas of tax.

Emma is fluent in both English and Afrikaans.
