David Stevens retired in 2014 as a partner in the technology transactions practice of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati's Palo Alto and San Diego offices. His practice focused on structuring and negotiating technology-related transactions, with an emphasis on assisting biopharmaceutical and life sciences companies.

Dave worked with both early-stage and public companies on a variety of international and domestic technology arrangements, covering business and legal issues of critical importance to technology-based clients. He was a trusted advisor with a wide range of experience in biotechnology and pharmaceuticals transactions, including late-stage and early-stage product licensing, multi-product research collaborations, platform technology alliances, single- and multi-product co-development arrangements, in-licensing of core technology rights, licensing of technology components for specific products, university licenses, and other types of intellectual property and technology transactions. In addition to numerous biotechnology and pharmaceuticals deals, Dave worked on transactions related to improved chemical manufacturing, research tools, agricultural products, new catalysts and polymers, and various other technologies.

Dave began his legal career in the Denver office of Arnold & Porter and the Palo Alto office of Brobeck, Phleger and Harrison. He first joined Wilson Sonsini in 1997, and returned to the firm in 2004, after gaining experience as senior corporate counsel at Maxygen, Inc.
