Alex O’Sullivan-Pierce is senior commercial counsel in the Boston office of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, where he is a member of the technology transactions practice and a leader of the firm’s cross-departmental “Patents and Innovations and Tech Transactions” (PITT Stop) initiative. His practice focuses on the commercial contracts and technology transactions for clients in the life sciences and technology industries, with a specialty in team management, associate training, and collaborative legal service delivery.
Before joining the firm, Alex led a team of 20 lawyers and paralegals providing support to in-house corporate counsel of a Fortune 100 company on a large portfolio of commercial contracting matters with a high concentration in technology procurement and related professional services. Serving simultaneously in management capacities and as a working transactional lawyer has enabled Alex to obtain deep experience in building practice programs and resources based on the unique legal and business requirements of specific client companies and key individual stakeholders. Leveraging Alex’s leadership efforts, his teams efficiently processed thousands of transactions on an annual basis, ranging from routine commercial agreements to strategic enterprise-level transactions for the client’s technology, innovation, and supply chain functions.
Immediately after graduating law school, and prior to the experience above, Alex was an attorney for an Am-Law 100 firm where he represented clients in the finance, fashion, entertainment, and information technology industries. Before attending law school, Alex was an English teacher and basketball coach at a middle school in New York City.
