On July 19, 2023, the World Trademark Review named Wilson Sonsini partner John Slafsky a 2023 Global Leader in the private practice category. The WTR Global Leaders rankings draw on a three-month nomination and research process to identify the best of the best in trademark practice.

To qualify for inclusion, WTR Global Leaders must be ranked in the Gold tier of the WTR 1000 listings of intellectual property specialists. Ranked lawyers must have considerable expertise and experience with legal issues related to branding, but also an ability to innovate, inspire, and go above and beyond for their clients.

According to the publication, John is one of the best all-rounders in California and the country. Sources note that he has “a great sense of humor and puts heart and soul into his work” and is “extremely effective and efficient” and thus, they would “recommend him without hesitation.”
