Wilson Sonsini represented Automation Anywhere, a global leader in robotic process automation (RPA), in the company’s $290 million Series B financing at a post-money valuation of $6.8 billion, which the company announced on November 21, 2019. The funding was led by Salesforce Ventures with additional funding from existing investors Softbank Vision Fund, General Atlantic, and Goldman Sachs.
Wilson Sonsini’s team was led by Raj Judge, a corporate partner and former co-leader of the firm’s emerging companies practice. Other attorneys on the team include corporate partner Mark Baudler, senior associate Melissa Rick, and associate Ashley Yueh.
The capital will help Automation Anywhere accelerate product development, expand its global reach, and advance intelligent automation with potential new acquisitions. Within the last year, Automation Anywhere announced its Series A investment of $550 million from SoftBank Vision Fund, General Atlantic, Goldman Sachs, NEA, World Innovation Lab, and Workday. The latest funding from Salesforce and other investors is a testament to the health of the RPA market and Automation Anywhere’s leadership in this sector.
In addition to the investment from Salesforce Ventures and the customer engagement opportunity, the company launched its Automation Anywhere Salesforce Connector on Salesforce AppExchange, the world’s leading enterprise cloud marketplace, bringing its market-leading intelligent automation platform to Salesforce global users through pre-built software bots.
