On March 4, 2020, Wilson Sonsini Litigation Of Counsel and Pro Bono Counsel Luke Liss participated in a panel discussion with students at Harvard Law School organized by student leaders of HLS’s Immigration Project. The panel focused on law firms’ recent experiences and insights in handling various immigration pro bono matters, and panelists shared with the students their personal stories of the positive impacts of assisting pro bono clients, as well as the substantial support provided by law firms. Wilson Sonsini has recently been very active in the space, for example obtaining asylum for numerous clients, getting permanent residency for victims of domestic violence, participating in immigration relief screening clinics in partnership with clients, and partnering with Wilson Sonsini subsidiary SixFifty and BYU Law School to seek to streamline the asylum application process.
