Victor Jih Joins Wilson Sonsini's Internet Strategy and Litigation Practice
Press Releases
March 2, 2020

PALO ALTO, CA (March 2, 2020) – Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, the premier provider of legal services to technology, life sciences, and growth enterprises worldwide, announced today that Victor Jih has joined the firm’s litigation department as partner in the Los Angeles office. He will be a member of the internet strategy and litigation practice.

Jih has extensive experience as a commercial litigator at both the trial and appellate levels. He represents companies in a broad array of complex business disputes, including First Amendment, unfair competition, consumer privacy, class action defense, contract, employment law, and other commercial litigation matters.

With a focus on intellectual property and litigation in the entertainment and media industry, Jih has worked with clients in a variety of sectors, including internet, hardware, software, and retail. He represents businesses at all stages of development—from start-ups to motion picture studios and leading technology companies—and draws upon his diverse legal experience and sophisticated understanding of intellectual property issues in business disputes to develop novel solutions to the most difficult and complex problems.

In addition to his litigation work, Jih advises companies on avoiding legal risk and related issues, including protection of intellectual property, fair use, and infringement.

“Victor’s addition to our firm enhances our Southern California presence and adds even greater experience to our highly successful internet strategy and litigation practice—one known for establishing important legal precedents in cases involving online IP, privacy, the First Amendment, online advertising, and other key areas,” said Doug Clark, managing partner at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati. “Victor has established himself as a valued resource for media, entertainment, internet, and other technology companies confronted by challenging legal disputes and business controversies.”

Jih most recently was a litigation partner in the Los Angeles office of Irell & Manella. He has been recognized as a top copyright and media and entertainment lawyer by Legal 500, and was named among the “Most Influential Minority Lawyers” by the Los Angeles Business Journal.

Jih received his J.D. from Harvard Law School in 1996, and his B.A. degree from Stanford University in 1993.
