On March 13, 2020, China Bright Culture Group (“Bright Culture,” stock code: 1859) completed its initial public offering on the Main Board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange with a total offering size of approximately HK$904 million (US$116 million), assuming the over-allotment option is not exercised. Wilson Sonsini acted as Hong Kong and U.S. legal counsel to the joint sponsors, Haitong International Capital Limited and BOCOM International (Asia) Limited, and other underwriters in the global offering and listing.
Bright Culture is an independent producer of variety programs, mainly engaged in operation, research and development, marketing, production, and distribution of video content (such as variety programs and drama series) for media platforms (including TV networks and online video platforms). It develops five genres of programs: food, work/career, urban, youth, and police/crime, and focuses on producing TV variety programs.
