This introductory issue features an article discussing new legislation that includes 54 proposals aiming to reduce healthcare costs and additional summaries regarding: i) recent congressional pressure on the FDA to regulate cannabidiol (CBD) food and dietary supplement products; ii) a letter recently sent by a bipartisan group of House Energy and Commerce Committee leaders to the Government Accountability Office (GAO) requesting a review of the FDA foreign drug inspection program; and iii) and additional letter sent by the bipartisan group of House Energy and Commerce Committee leaders to the FDA following up on an earlier request for information on the agency’s ability to ensure the safety of the drug supply chain.
