During the month of May—recognized as Jewish American Heritage Month—there has been a disturbing increase in the number of anti-Semitic incidents reported across the country and around the globe. We stand in solidarity with our Jewish colleagues, clients, and friends, and we denounce anti-Semitism in all of its forms.
Wilson Sonsini condemns all forms of injustice, including racism, xenophobia, hate, discrimination, and violence targeting specific individuals and groups. We stated it clearly in March in connection with the rise in anti-Asian hate crimes, and it applies just as strongly now to this troubling rise in anti-Jewish hate, which has largely coincided with the recent conflict in the Middle East. Recent anti-Semitic attacks have included violence against Jewish teenagers, defacing of synagogues and Jewish business districts, verbal abuse of rabbis, and hateful messages and images on social media, among many others.
As an organization, it is our responsibility to speak out against acts of hate and injustice in our communities at all times—and, more broadly, to do everything we can to contribute to a more just and tolerant society. We are proud of our longstanding commitment to diversity, inclusion, acceptance, and understanding, as well as our support of organizations committed to social justice. In light of these recent events, the Wilson Sonsini Foundation has increased its previous contribution to the Anti-Defamation League, which aims to stop the defamation of the Jewish people and secure justice and fair treatment for all.
We encourage everyone to commit to confronting bias and racism and to supporting each other, and we will continue to provide a safe, diverse, and inclusive workplace for all of our employees in accordance with our firm’s values.
