On December 15, 2025, Wilson Sonsini litigator Matt Macdonald was honored among Los Angeles Business Journal's 2025 "Leaders of Influence: Thriving in Their 40s.” The annual list recognizes established experts in the Los Angeles region and provides insight on their careers, attributes, and accomplishments.

Matt's cases span industries and issues—from a trial win involving racehorses at Santa Anita Park to a rare summary judgment victory in first‑of‑its‑kind defamation claims for OpenAI and ChatGPT. Since early 2023, Matt has taken two cases to trial and one to arbitration—prevailing in all three—and secured a complete defense on the pleadings in a precedent‑setting privacy class action. He also obtained a major win for his client in a landmark foodtech patent fight and played a key role on the Wilson Sonsini team that secured $46.7 million in damages from Amazon for VB Assets (successor to VoiceBox).
