In recognition of this year’s National Celebration of Pro Bono, Lawyers for Good Government (L4GG) has awarded Wilson Sonsini the 2024 Outstanding Pro Bono Partner Award. This honor highlights the firm’s exceptional contributions to L4GG’s mission, particularly in the Climate Change and Environmental Justice (CCEJ) program, Temporary Protected Status (TPS) cases, and the Lawyers for Racial Justice program. Wilson Sonsini has played a crucial role in helping states, local governments, and nonprofits access funding for clean energy projects under the Inflation Reduction Act, utilizing their expertise in the Direct Pay tax credit to benefit traditionally ineligible entities.

Additionally, Wilson Sonsini has provided pro bono legal services in TPS redesignation cases, assisting individuals fleeing conflicts in countries like Ukraine and Afghanistan. The firm’s efforts have ensured that vulnerable individuals can remain in the U.S. without fear of deportation and secure work permits. Wilson Sonsini has also contributed valuable research on policies that disproportionately impact communities of color, furthering L4GG’s commitment to social justice.
