Wilson Sonsini Advises Couchbase on $230 Million IPO
On July 26, 2021, Couchbase, Inc., a provider of a leading modern database for enterprise applications, closed its initial public offering of 9,589,999 shares of its common stock at a public offering price of $24.00 per share, which included the full exercise by the underwriters of their option to purchase an additional 1,250,869 shares of common stock. Aggregate gross proceeds to Couchbase were approximately $230 million, before underwriting discounts, commissions, and estimated offering expenses. Couchbase's common stock is listed on the Nasdaq Global Select Market under the ticker symbol “BASE.” Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati represented Couchbase in the offering.

Firm Represents Leo Cancer Care in $25.3 Million Series B Financing
On July 20, 2021, Leo Cancer Care, an innovative start-up that is set to change the face of radiation therapy forever, announced that it recently completed a $25.3 million Series B fundraise. In addition to lead investor Pureland Global Venture, the largest investors in the round included Yu Galaxy, WARF, Alumni Ventures, Junson Capital, and Serra Ventures, as well as industry leaders CHC, Toret Devices, and Radiation Business Solutions. Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati advised Leo Cancer Care on the transaction.

The proceeds from the Series B will support Leo Cancer Care as it continues to develop its state-of-the-art upright radiotherapy solutions, which offer significant improvements to clinical effectiveness and patient experience. The company, which is based in Horley, United Kingdom, and Middleton, Wisconsin, also plans to expand its teams in the United States, Europe, and Singapore.

On April 21, 2020, Nitrome Biosciences (Nitrome), a privately-held biopharmaceutical company developing a platform around a newly identified class of enzymes to target Parkinson's disease and other age-related disorders, announced that it has closed a Series A financing of $38 million co-led by Sofinnova Partners, a leading European life sciences venture capital firm, and AbbVie Ventures, AbbVie's corporate strategic venture capital arm, with further participation from the Dementia Discovery Fund, Mission Bay Capital, and Alexandria Venture Investments.
