On August 17, 2017, HDS Global, a warehouse automation start-up, announced that Ingram Micro, a wholesaler of IT products and services, has entered into an agreement with HDS Global in order to secure exclusive worldwide rights to RoboFS in the IT, mobility, and connected device distribution and logistics services industries. In connection with the agreement, Ingram Micro has agreed to invest $10 million in HDS through a convertible note. Wilson Sonsini represented HDS in the transaction.
Developed by HDS, RoboFS is a software-defined fulfillment system that combines intelligent vision and swarm software with mobile and articulated robots into an end-to-end solution that dramatically advances service level capabilities and delivers significant volume throughput increases without increasing facility size.
The Wilson Sonsini team that represented HDS in the transaction included partner Allison Spinner.
