On April 21, 2025, Wilson Sonsini partner Gary Greenstein was once again honored as one of Billboard's "Top Music Lawyers," marking his ninth recognition in the prestigious list.

Gary continues to represent prominent clients in the music industry and is particularly noted for his recent work defending Marriott International in a copyright infringement case brought by Sony Music Entertainment. In the case, Sony alleged Marriott and its partners had misused over 900 songs on social media platforms. Ultimately, the case was dropped, and both parties ended the litigation with prejudice. Addressing concerns posed by major music companies, Gary remarked, “The concentration of power among a handful of major licensors is limiting innovation and requiring enormous table stakes to enter the marketplace.”
