Wilson Sonsini has become a signatory to the American Bar Association’s “Disability Diversity in the Legal Profession: A Pledge for Change,” reaffirming the firm’s longstanding commitment to the principle that diversity and inclusion are core components of a thriving organization.
The pledge, set forth by the American Bar Association Commission on Disability Rights, affirms signatories’ commitment to diversity in the legal profession, specifically diversity with respect to individuals with mental, physical, and sensory disabilities. It is “based on the need to enhance opportunity in the legal profession and our recognition that the legal and business interests of our clients and the populations we serve require legal representation that reflects the diversity of our employees, customers and the communities where we operate.” The pledge, which was created in response to the lack of lawyers with disabilities in the profession, also announces that the signatory will encourage others in the legal industry to make this commitment.
