On December 9, 2022, KPIX-TV aired a video segment of Wilson Sonsini partner and Wilson Sonsini Foundation board member David Berger presenting a check for $77,122 to Second Harvest of Silicon Valley as part of a Food for Bay Area Families feature spotlighting community partners. The dollar amount represents the total donated by both firm employees and the Wilson Sonsini Foundation during Second Harvest’s fiscal year 2022.
“We’re proud to partner with Second Harvest because we agree with their mission—it’s so critical to help everyone who needs a healthy meal in Silicon Valley be able to get one,” said David. “We partner both on a financial basis and with volunteers; we’re out working with Second Harvest on a volunteer basis to help provide the meals and support they need.”
“We are now providing food to more than 450,000 every single month, and that number is rising due to inflation, so we’re really grateful for this kind of community support,” said Leslie Bacho, CEO of Second Harvest of Silicon Valley.
David noted that the firm has partnered with Second Harvest for more than 30 years. Gail McFall, the firm’s senior manager of community affairs who manages the firm’s relationship with Second Harvest, was also part of the check presentation, which took place at Second Harvest’s Cypress Center facility in San Jose.
