On February 25, 2026, Daily Journal recognized the case ReactX LLC v. Google LLC, led by Wilson Sonsini, among the "Top Verdicts of 2025." The annual list highlights California's top verdicts based on dollar amounts, impact, defense victories, and appellate reversals.
The accompanying profile highlights digital advertising platform ReactX's claims that Google breached a series of contracts by using confidential ReactX technology to build two of its most successful advertising products, seeking $1.3 billion in damages. Weeks before trial, ReactX voluntarily dropped its trade secret misappropriation claim and later, Wilson Sonsini was able to persuade the court to trim the multi-claim case to a single-claim dispute.
Wilson Sonsini's team, led by Colleen Bal, John Flynn, and Tait Graves, "executed a sequence of sophisticated maneuvers that narrowed the case and positioned the jury to reject the plaintiff's claim" and secured a complete jury trial victory for Google.
In the profile, Colleen remarks, "Definitely a team effort. We had Tait Graves, a nationally recognized expert in trade secret and confidential information cases, a powerful litigator, and a scholar. All of us work collaboratively and as a tight-knit group, and that's a huge advantage." She also lauded that John was "masterful" in his cross-examination of the ReactX's damages expert.
"Colleen wrapped it all in a bow with a beautiful close," John said. "In contrast to their hyperbolic and over-the-top presentation."
