On October 25, 2017, Enel, a multinational power company and an integrated player in the global, power, gas, and renewables markets, through its U.S. subsidiary EnerNOC, announced that it has acquired California-based eMotorWerks, a leading North American supplier of JuiceBox electric vehicle (EV) charging stations and owner and operator of JuiceNet, an Internet of Things (IoT) platform for the smart management of EV charging and other distributed energy storage facilities. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Wilson Sonsini represented eMotorWerks in the transaction.
According to a press release, the acquisition of eMotorWerks marks Enel's entrance into the U.S. electric mobility market, one of the largest EV markets at a global level.
The Wilson Sonsini team that represented eMotorWerks in the transaction included partner Bob O'Connor and associates Mark Holloway and Dennise Martinez.
