Dr. Christopher Kuner, Senior Privacy Counsel in Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati's Brussels office, was recently selected to serve on the European Commission Multi-Stakeholder Expert Group to support the application of the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Christopher is one of 27 members of the group, which includes academics, lawyers, non-governmental organizations, and business associations. He was appointed in his personal capacity as an independent academic expert and professor of law and director of the Brussels Privacy Hub at the VUB Brussel. The expert group is designed to assist the commission in identifying potential challenges in the application of the GDPR and to provide the commission with advice and expertise in relation to the preparation of delegated acts and implementing acts to be adopted under the GDPR. Membership in the expert group is for a three-year term.
