On Monday, October 19 from 11:15 a.m.–12:15 p.m., Wilson Sonsini partner Miranda Biven will participate in the workshop "Express Licenses: Do They Help or Hinder?"

University Express Licenses are becoming more common as a solution to reducing negotiation time between start-ups and their university tech transfer offices. Many Express Licenses are only offered for certain technologies, such as engineering, software, and sometimes medical devices, which can be harder to license. The workshop will cover topics such as:

• What are the pros and cons of these licenses?
• Should we encourage them or not?
• What do the start-ups, their investors, and lawyers think of them?
