Please join Wilson Sonsini in Salt Lake City for a half-day morning seminar on competition law on Tuesday, April 29 (rescheduled from an earlier date), featuring multiple current and former Commissioners and leaders of the Federal Trade Commission.
This event will focus on the current state of competition law at both the federal and state level, including issues such as the FTC’s attempted ban of non-competition restrictions and the FTC’s current enforcement priorities with an emphasis on antitrust considerations in mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures; the direction of competition law at the state level with a particular focus on Delaware law impacting mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures; trade secret, data breach, and related competition issues involving the misappropriation of sensitive information; best practices for protecting your company’s legitimate competitive interests and sensitive information; and regulatory and compliance updates, including issues concerning AI.
The format will include a diverse and interesting series of presentations, including panel discussions, a fireside chat with one of the FTC’s current Commissioners, and audience-driven discussions.

Jess M. Krannich is a litigation partner in the Salt Lake City office of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati. Jess is a seasoned trial lawyer who leads significant intellectual property, unfair competition, patent, and general commercial matters for a wide range of clients in the technology, life sciences, medical device, consumer products, and financial services sectors. Many of his clients are major industry leaders in the Rocky Mountain West.
Maneesha Mithal is a partner in the Washington, D.C., office of Wilson Sonsini and co-chair of the firm’s data, privacy, and cybersecurity practice. Maneesha advises clients on privacy, cybersecurity, and consumer protection matters and represents companies in regulatory investigations. She is also one of the founding members of Wilson Sonsini’s AI group.
Michelle Hale focuses on complex, government-facing antitrust matters. Michelle regularly represents companies before the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and the U.S. Department of Justice in conduct and merger investigations, including specializing in matters involving investigations into potential Robinson-Patman Act violations. This experience informs her ability to provide effective antitrust counseling on a wide range of business conduct, including joint ventures, collaborations, and pricing and distribution, among others. She also has extensive experience navigating through the complexities of the U.S. HSR and multi-jurisdictional filing processes.
