On March 12, as part of the ABA’s Privacy and Emerging Technology National Institute, Partner Maneesha Mithal will speak on the panel, “You Know How I Feel: Emotion AI and Surveillance Capitalism.” The session will explore the benefits and risks of emotion AI and online tracking in consumer contexts, highlight key U.S. and global legal developments, and offer practical guidance for companies seeking to innovate responsibly while managing regulatory risk.
On March 13, join partner Stefan Geirhofer, along with George Long (Managing Member, Legal Parallax, LLC), Josephine Millward (Partner, OpAmp Capital), and Nick Reese (Chief Operations Officer and Board Member, Optica Labs Inc.), for their panel, "Launchpad to the Future: AI and Space Exploration," from 3:00-4:00 pm. The session will describe applications at the intersection of AI and NewSpace with a focus on the unique regulatory framework that applies in space due to the interplay between international treaties and national laws, examine best practices for protecting intellectual property and managing risks in space applications, and address emerging applications in space, such as quantum key distribution.
