Unfortunately, we need to postpone Session 7 of our Digital Health Webinar Series. We will update this page once a date has been rescheduled. Thank you for your continuing interest in this series, and apologize for any inconvenience.
On Wednesday, March 27th, Wilson Sonsini is pleased to host the seventh session in our Digital Health Webinar Series.
In this session, partners Tracy Shapiro, Eric Tuttle, and Haley Bavasi will dive into Washington state’s new health privacy law, known as the "My Health, My Data Act."
My Health My Data has sweeping implications for businesses that do business in Washington or target products or services to Washington consumers and process consumer health data. “Consumer health data” is defined broadly and vaguely, leading to confusion among companies as to whether the data they process is covered by the law. The law includes a private right of action for consumers whose health data has been used in violation of the law.
Compliance dates are quickly approaching (March 31, 2024, and a brief extension to June 2024 for small businesses), and we look forward to discussing the requirements and business risks presented by the My Health My Data Act.
