Courtney Reed is an associate in the Palo Alto office of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, where she is a member of the firm’s complex litigation and investigations practice.
Courtney represents companies in complex litigation related to intellectual property and commercial contract disputes in both federal and state courts. She has significant experience litigating cases through all aspects of the litigation process, from the inception of an action through discovery, motion practice, and trial.
Courtney also maintains an active pro bono practice. She has worked on multiple impact litigation matters with the ACLU of Louisiana, represented environmental conservation groups, and helped refugees and low-income residents obtain asylum or citizenship.
During law school, Courtney spent a semester as an intern at the Federal Trade Commission in the Office of Policy Planning. She was also a clinical student in the Samuelson Law, Technology & Public Policy Clinic, where she worked with a team to draft city-wide Privacy Principles for the City of Oakland, which the Oakland City Council unanimously adopted in March 2020. Prior to her legal career, Courtney worked in book publishing in New York for six years.
