WSGR Honored as a Law360 "Competition Group of the Year"
On January 26, 2017, Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati was featured among the top competition practices in the nation as part of Law360's annual "Practice Groups of the Year" series. According to Law360, WSGR was chosen for "obtaining key wins in antitrust litigation," including an international comity case before the Second Circuit, and seeing major mergers to completion, including Altera's $16.7 billion purchase by Intel.
In an accompanying profile, Law360 highlights the firm's representation of Hebei Welcome Pharmaceutical and North China Pharmaceutical Group—which was led by partner Jon Jacobson—before the Second Circuit, which handed down a ruling in September 2016 that vacated a $147 million district court judgment against the two China-based companies some 10 years after they were accused of fixing the price of Vitamin C. Among other matters, the firm is also noted for its merger-related antitrust work, including Broadcom's $5.9 billion acquisition of Brocade Communications Systems in November 2016, NetSuite's $9.3 billion acquisition by Oracle in July 2016, and HomeAway's $3.9 billion sale to Expedia in November 2015.
