To better aid our clients, WSGR will present a seminar providing guidance to In-house counsel who deal with matters involving the company’s accounting function. Responsibilities range from implementing internal controls that have bearing on financial reporting or disclosures, to answering auditor inquiries, to negotiating engagement terms with accountants. Investigations and events arise that create contingencies and risk to the financial statements. In these situations, accountants look to in-house counsel to provide guidance. This session will address frequent events that in-house counsel face and discuss strategies to best prepare for and address.

As a result, corporate drafting errors are more likely to come to light, and can be expensive to fix after the fact. We will offer thoughts on how to avoid technical missteps and suggestions for fixing problems before they compound.
