Federal Jury Decides in Favor of ISSI in Trade Secret Dispute

On November 25, 2015, after a four-week trial, a federal jury returned a verdict completely vindicating Integrated Silicon Solution, Inc. (ISSI) in a trade secret dispute with a competitor that sought $40 million in damages. WSGR represented ISSI at trial and throughout the litigation.

Plaintiff GSI Technology, Inc. sued ISSI in October 2013 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California after first suing co-defendant United Memories Inc. in March 2013. At trial, GSI alleged claims against ISSI that included trade secret misappropriation, unfair competition, and tortious interference with prospective economic advantage. Other GSI allegations, including antitrust claims, were dismissed after rulings on motions to dismiss and for partial summary judgment. The jury cleared ISSI of all claims.

The Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati team representing ISSI in the matter included partners John Flynn, Charles Tait Graves, Colleen Bal, and Tony Weibell; associates Joel Boehm, Josh Baskin, and Brianna Kohr; and Of Counsel Shelby Pasarell Tsai, with paralegal support from Pamela Sandillo, George Perez, and Aaron Jorgensen.
