Regulatory and Compliance


Larry Perrone is Of Counsel in the Washington, D.C., office of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, where his practice focuses on white collar criminal defense, internal and government investigations, and related regulatory and compliance matters. The vast majority of Larry's practice involves conducting internal or government investigations and defending individuals and companies charged with or investigated for violations of the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), U.S. export controls and economic sanctions laws, specifically the Export Administration Regulation, International Traffic in Arms Regulation, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control, and related matters involving cybersecurity and national security. Larry has significant experience representing clients in actions or investigations involving the U.S. Department of Justice, the Securities and Exchange Commission, the U.S. Department of Commerce, and the U.S. Department of State.

In addition to his practice, Larry is an experienced compliance professional, well-versed in developing global anti-corruption and anti-bribery compliance programs for companies in a wide range of industries, including private and public companies of all sizes and shapes, with a particular focus on the technology and pharmaceutical industries. He has worked as in-house ethics and compliance counsel (secondment) at Google in Mountain View, California, and frequently conducts anti-corruption and anti-bribery due diligence during mergers, acquisitions, financings, initial public offerings, and similar transactions. Larry serves as day-to-day anti-corruption and anti-bribery counsel to several firm clients.

Larry also is committed to serving underrepresented and disenfranchised members of society. He serves as the pro bono coordinator in the firm's Washington, D.C., office and is dedicated to representing indigent criminal defendants in criminal matters. Larry was awarded WSGR's highest award for pro bono service, the John Wilson Award, in 2012 and 2014. Prior to joining the firm, Larry completed internships at the Public Defender's Office in Jacksonville, Florida, and with Jacksonville Area Legal Aid.
