Biotech Board of Directors Dinner

On January 13, Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati hosted its eighth annual Biotech Board of Directors Dinner, attended by more than 240 biotech and pharmaceutical CEOs, board members, and venture capitalists from across the country. The exclusive networking dinner was held at the Sir Francis Drake Hotel in San Francisco. The evening's program, entitled "Trends in the Biotech and Pharmaceutical Industries," featured a conversation with Roger Longman, former editor and managing director at Elsevier Business Intelligence.

Roger, who has been involved with the healthcare industry for more than 25 years, discussed the trends affecting the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries today and their impact on future business. He also explored steps that companies can take now to lay the foundation for future success.

Widely recognized as one of the foremost experts in biopharmaceutical strategy, Roger most recently served as managing director of Elsevier Business Intelligence's biopharmaceutical group, leaving the company in November 2009 to pursue a variety of new business ventures. Earlier in his career, he worked as a writer for The Wilkerson Group, covering the pharmaceutical and biotech industries for IN VIVO: The Business & Medicine Report.
