| EXPERIENCE: Marc Gottschalk is a partner in Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati's real estate and environmental practice and heads the environmental practice. Marc also coordinates the firm's energy and environmental technology practice, focusing on emerging alternative energy companies and companies with environmentally beneficial technologies. He is also a co-founder and board member of the Clean Tech Open, the nation's premier business plan competition for clean technology ventures. Marc represents a wide range of companies on environmental and real estate matters, working closely with clients to find effective, efficient solutions to their legal concerns. He has lectured and published articles on the impact of environmental laws on real estate transactions, as well as on the European Union environmental directives (WEEE and RoHS), the Clean Air Act, the Clean Water Act, Superfund, underground storage tank laws, and the California Environmental Quality Act. He also has worked on a wide range of complex real estate transactions from corporate campus and residential and retail mixed-use projects to leasing and financing transactions, including Sanmina-SCI Corporation's acquisition of its corporate campus in San Jose, California, and Silverstone Communities—Northern California's development of a mixed-use residential and retail project in Cupertino, California. Marc also assists clean tech companies with advice on getting established and building their businesses. Marc joined Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati in 1996.
